Rupture (USA-Canada, 2016)

FILM: Rupture (USA-Canada, 2016)By Antônio Teixeira, on 1.8.2017.(SPOILER ALERT)

Produced and directed by Steven Shainberg ("Secretary", 2002). With Noomi Rapace and Michael Chiklis.

A working-class American woman, divorced and with a teenage son, is abducted by a group of mutants that has been testing
for more than 100 years the compatibility of their sperm and eggs with of people with characteristics of resilience and overcoming, pertinacity and audacity.

It is intended that those "guinea pigs" eventually master their extreme and traumatic fears, and thus develop mutation in the DNA to control automatic functions of the body and mind (such as their mentors), as musculature of the face, the acuity of the five physical senses, and the basal emotions (fear, sadness, anger and joy).

From then on the necessary target would be the important functions, some less noble (sex, sleep, hunger, thirst, pain) and others believed more noble (intelligence, cognition, reasoning, adaptability).

At the end of the process, the objective of replicating and training such variant offspring, with morally attuned to Nature, is to reach critical mass in order to eliminate the remaining human beings on Earth (look at the paradox!), once they are considered vira, destructors of the planet.

From the technical point of view, music is disturbing, photography is poor, both for lack of light and for failures in the balanced gradation of light-dark transitions. The scenarios demonstrate more the budget shortage than the ability to use simple but well-composed outlines. There is a certain anachronism in the facilities and equipment.

Of the Cast stands out the fighter Renée (Noomi), with excellent performance, and the bad guy Michael Chiklis (without character name) that steals the scene of other extras.

As for the Plot, it flows, it delivers what is proposed, without major upheavals. The open end presupposes a Suite shortly, hopefully better elaborated, although on the Theme (alteration of physical DNA from the control of the Autonomic Nervous System), even much explored more than a century ago by modern Psychology, and for millennia by mystics and Religious of all denominations, until now the Psychoneurology has not yet obtained consensus as to its possibilities, from the scientific point of view.

But the fictionists on duty stubbornly anticipate and enjoy it with an orgasmic lust, we perceive in the fantasy that sets in our subconscious, loving the hypothesis "and if it were possible"?
